Dr. Petras received his MD degree at the Medical University of South Carolina, followed by an internship at York Hospital, residency training at MCV, and a fellowship in Pediatric Ophthalmology at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Canada.
Dr. Petras is board certified and has been in private practice for over 20 years. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, Virginia Society of Eye Physicians & Surgeons, and the Richmond Academy of Medicine.
Dr. Petras’ practice focuses on general ophthalmology, cataract surgery, glaucoma and sub-specializing in pediatric ophthalmology.
Dr. Petras and his wife and son live in Richmond. In his spare time, Dr. Petras enjoys boating on the Chesapeake Bay in the Deltaville area.
